The Safe and Drug-free Schools and Communities program provides a quality service and opportunity for schools to prevent drug, alcohol, and tobacco use by offering a comprehensive program and service that coordinates with other school and community-based initiatives.

This on-site presentation is suitable for all grade levels. Topics include the characteristics of bullies, their targets, bystanders, and what students can do to report bully behavior and help change the school climate.

Safe School Walk Through
A Region 2 consultant will conduct an unannounced walk through of a campus. They will check security, maintenance, safety procedures, and other issues at the campus or district administrator's request.

Peer Assistance and Leadership (P.A.L.) Training
This training is provided for both students and their sponsors. It teaches middle and high school students how to take a leadership role in providing assistance to other students.

Peer Mediation Training
Training for students and Sponsors in schools interested in beginning a formalized peer mediation program. The training includes peaceful conflict resolution and personal responsibility issues.

Technical Assistance
ESC-2 offers technical support in these areas: application preparation, program development and local action planning, program evaluation and documentation, as well as project-specific assistance.

S3 (Safe Schools Survey)
This online survey can be completed by students, parents, teachers and administrators. This survey can be used as a needs assessment and an outcome measure for SDFSC programming.

Curriculum
Your SDFSC Cooperative works with districts to provide curriculum related to the prevenphoto of group celebratingtion of tobacco, alcohol and drug use, including "DAVE," the Texas Prevention Curriculum Guide.

Support Media
ESC-2 maintains a library of audio-visual materials available to Region 2 schools and related to the prevention of drug use.

Staff Development
Workshops are scheduled to address relevant topics which are determined by needs assessments, program and service evaluations, and district requests.
